ActionWorks® Business Process Modeling
Overview
ActionWorks is a rich environment for the analysis, redesign, implementation and continuous improvement of business processes based on our patented model of human interaction. This course introduces the fundamentals of business process design, and through lectures and hands-on exercises, you will learn how to analyze and redesign processes using the ActionWorks Process Builder.
ActionWorks® Business Process Modeling is also a pre-requisite for both the ActionWorks® Application Development and ActionWorks® Application Development Advanced courses. It is essential that students fully understand the interaction model that ActionWorks is based upon to get the most out of our other course offerings.
Objectives
Participants will gain hands-on experience translating business process requirements into ActionWorks process design maps. Specific topics that will be covered include:
- Detailed explanation of the human interaction based ActionWorks Methodology.
- Learn how to analyze business process requirements.
- Learn techniques to interview end-users to gain further knowledge about business process requirements.
- Introduction to ActionWorks and the user interface.
- Detailed explanation of all aspects of Protocol and how to make ActionWorks Protocol match your business process requirements.
- Use the ActionWorks Process Builder to build ActionWorks application files. These exercises lead the student through all the necessary steps to translate business process requirements into ActionWorks process maps.
- Thorough coverage of the Map tab in the Process Builder, including Toolbox tools for linking, creating conditionals, and splitter and rendezvous mapping techniques.
- Additional mapping exposure to primary and sub-workflows, normal links, stop flags, exception links, starting and ending acts, mapping best practices, consistency checking and correcting errors.
- Introduction to advanced mapping topics such as sub-processes of sub-processes.
- Use of the ActionWorks Process Administrator to install ActionWorks application files as well as learn how to create identities, organizational roles, and offices.
- Learn how to map the ActionWorks application to identities, roles and offices.
- Students will also run and test a ActionWorks application.
Who Should Attend?
Business analysts and application developers involved in analyzing and developing business processes within the ActionWorks framework. No programming experience or any prior ActionWorks development courses are necessary.
